The Anglomoil side by side (SXS) buggy competing in this year’s Australian Rally Championship has complied its Nullarbor crossing and has arrived in the West to prepare for next weekend’s Quit Forest Rally. Co-driver Les Chivers decided to do the trek whilst driver Nathan (his son) will fly in from Sydney.
The Can Am SXS is capable of speeds up to 120 km/h and competes on the same stages as the rally cars. Its small engine runs high revs for up to 20 minutes at a time because Nathan says they need to be at full pace to stay with the leading teams of Guest and Crocker. These harsh operating conditions for the engine and drivetrain demand high performance “extreme performance” lubricants and this is why the team chose Anglomoil.
The Chivers duo are debuting a new 600 kilogram Can Am buggy, their other one will form the other half of their new two-car team which will debut at the South Australian round of the ARC in August.
